Modern Retro Street Style in Harajuku w/ Faith Tokyo Plaid Skirt, Metallic Slingbacks & Gucci Drawstring Pouch

While on the Tokyo streets we met Saki, an 18-year-old student who caught our eye with her striking yellow-and-white street style outfit.

Sporting a faded neon green bob with blunt bangs, Saki is dressed in a yellow knit cardigan, which she styled with a long-sleeve keyhole lace blouse featuring a lace collar trim and ruffled cuffs. She tucked her lace blouse into a plaid midi-length pencil skirt from Faith Tokyo, showing a center slit and belted waist. Yellow-and-black zebra print tights, metallic pointy-toed slingbacks from Faith Tokyo, and a drawstring pouch bag from Gucci completed her ensemble. She accessorized with red-tinted sunglasses, multiple ear studs, a beaded flower collar necklace layered with a double layer cross necklace, and a gold chain belt.

Pink & Green-Haired Japanese Girls in All White Layered Streetwear Styles

While out on the streets of Tokyo, we spotted these two girls who caught our attention with their striking hair colors and all white ensembles.

Sporting long pink hair with blunt bangs, 19-year-old Sayaka is decked out in a long tiered coat with a sailor collar and ruffled lace tiers. She paired her unique coat with a lace blouse, cropped pants, lace ankle socks, and platform sandals with scalloped sole trims. She completed her all-white look with a white JanSport backpack, hair clips, a silver cross necklace, large cross earrings, and a flower ring. Sayaka is active on Instagram.

Meanwhile, green-haired Machi, also wearing an all white style, is dressed in a long sleeved lace collar top which features lace stripes, puffed sleeves and hemmed cuffs. She paired her top with a knee-length skirt, and donned a jumper dress with ruffle straps over her top and skirt. While out on a recent trip to the streets of Tokyo, we ran into Hikaru, a 20-year-old student whose two-tone braided hairstyle and matching color-coordinated outfit made him stand out on the street.

Hikaru donned a white oversized distressed sweater, which he wore over a zip-up turtleneck, both sourced from Ikumi. He paired his layered tops with fishnet stockings and platform split-toe boots from Maison Margiela. Hikaru accessorized – some from Givenchy – with oversized sunglasses, mismatched earrings, a leather choker, a chunky cross pendant necklace layered with a dog tag necklace, black suspenders held in place by a leather belt, and a white ruffle garter on his right thigh.

While out for a leisurely walk along the streets of nighttime Harajuku, we met 20-year-old Kashikoichild, sporting a striking outfit that easily caught our eye.

Kashikoichild – sporting a fringed curly hairstyle – is dressed in a grey Three Sisters long sleeve turtleneck top from Pameo Pose, which she layered with a purple satin people print shirt from Faith Tokyo, tucked into a satin blue asymmetrical hem skirt from 8 Seconds and cinched with a black grommet belt. Black ribbed socks, black-and-white Reebok Insta Pump Fury sneakers, and a black Daylife sling bag completed her outfit. She topped off her look with a cross and gem collar necklace from Baby Don’t Cry.

In Harajuku, we met Kazuto and Takuma, two guys whose striking takes on streetwear dressing definitely caught our eye on the street.

Sporting partially shaved hair with dreadlocks, Kazuto – a 19-year-old cook – is dressed in a black vintage cropped shirt, which he wore over a black dragon print Dogtown sleeveless shirt. He styled his layered tops with marijuana print denim pants from Topman cinched with a black Nike belt, and slipped into white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. His accessories – some from Chrome Hearts, Oh Pearl and D&G – include a beaded cross pendant Dogtown necklace, silver pendant necklaces, silver hoop earrings and an ear stud, wallet chains and multiple knuckle rings. Kazuto’s favorite fashion label is Dogtown, and he likes the music of Lil Peep and Fox4g.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Takuma stepped out wearing a vintage loose long sleeve printed top, which he paired with loose black pants and two-tone lace-up suede shoes. He accessorized his ensemble with a nose piercing, safety pin earrings, red-tinted sunglasses, and multiple knuckle rings. While out on the Harajuku street one late afternoon, we came upon these two guys whose individual takes on black streetwear dressing easily caught our eye.

At the left is Rikiya, a 16-year-old dancer who is wearing a black vintage printed t-shirt, tucked into blue leopard print pants from Fendi, and styled with black lace-up shoes. A black waist bag, a ribbed beanie over a black bandana, and accessories – some from Tiffany & Co. and Avalanche – such as a cross pendant necklace layered with a lock necklace, religious icon bracelets, and multiple rings rounded out Rikiya’s style. Rikiya’s favorite fashion brand is Palm Angels. Rikiya is active on Twitter and Instagram.

Meanwhile, sporting pink spiky hair at the right is Kentaro. The 17-year-old student is dressed in a black cropped sweatshirt from Adidas, paired with black plaid pants cinched with a leather belt, and styled with black heeled boots. He finished off his all black look with a silver hoop earring and ring from Chrome Hearts, a “SEX” chain necklace, and a black waist bag slung over his shoulder.

In Harajuku, we came upon Yukito, a part-time worker whose bold makeup and black streetwear style easily caught our eye on the street one evening.

Sporting a messy asymmetrical bob with side bangs, Yukito is dressed in a sheer black long sleeve shirt with neon graphic prints from If Six Was Nine, which he wore with a black tank top underneath. He paired his layered tops with black skinny pants with distressed and ridged detailing, also from If Six Was Nine. Black fold over boots with studs and grommet straps from Midas completed his ensemble. He accessorized his look with heavy silver jewelry – from Gunda, Justin Davis and Deal Design – such as a gunmetal chain bib necklace with cross pendants, multiple silver chain bracelets, and multiple silver knuckle rings. Hanging from his pant pocket is a colorful graphic print scarf.

Here’s Misa, a 21-year-old fashion college student whose gothic monochrome streetwear style easily caught our eye on the Harajuku street.

Sporting long blonde hair with fringes, Misa stepped out wearing a white Boujee tank top from Forever21, tucked into black patent leather pants from UNIF. Platform patent leather shoes, and a black leather waist bag completed her outfit. Statement hoop earrings from MYOB NYC, a silver nose ring and a black leather choker layered with a cross pendant necklace from Amijed, along with her gothic cat eye makeup and black lipstick, are the finishing touches to Misa’s edgy style. While talking an afternoon walk along the Harajuku street, we came upon Yuto, the 16-year-old student who is regularly featured on our street snap photos.

Yuto stepped out in a resale grey sweatshirt with distressed and cut-out details, which he tucked into resale black pants with a distressed knee cut-out. He cinched his waist with a brown leather belt, tucked his pants into Dr. Martens high-cut boots with white laces. Accessorizing his look are items such as a rhinestone cross pendant necklace, black cuffs, and a gold chain accessory with a padlock.

While out on the streets of the Harajuku neighborhood, we came across Kakaru and Hiroki, whose striking streetwear ensembles easily caught our attention.

At the right sporting two-tone black-and-pink hair in twin tails is Kakaru, an 18-year-old part-time clad in an all pink ensemble. She is dressed in a pastel pink fuzzy hoodie jacket, worn over a pink unicorn print hoodie sweater from ACDC Rag, and paired with a pink unicorn print skirt – also from ACDC Rag. Printed socks, white platform sneakers from WEGO, and a pink Thank You Mart backpack with a clear front flap filled with pink badges and cute stuff completed her outfit. Accessories such as hair bows – from Claire’s, Sun Hoseki and Sanrio Shop – a spiked o-ring choker layered with a heart pendant necklace, spike earrings, and multiple rings from Swimmer and Sun Hoseki rounded out her cute all pink style. While out taking a stroll on the Harajuku street one late afternoon, we came upon Yurian and Mami Creamy, two teenage girls whose interesting ensembles caught our attention.

At the left sporting long purple hair is Mami Creamy, a 15-year-old student. She is dressed in a metallic silver jacket from Romantic Standard, worn over layers of a black mesh top and a distressed denim tube top from Codona De Moda. Black pants from Codona De Moda, black lace-up shoes, and a printed leather handbag – her mother’s – completed her outfit. A skull and cross pendant necklace and a silver knuckle ring rounded out her eclectic style. Catching our eye on the evening Harajuku street are Remon, Yuzuremon and Tau, a trio of Japanese girls all sporting striking ensembles.

At the left sporting an edgy red-and-black hairstyle and outfit is Remon. The 17-year-old student is wearing a black furry jacket with extra long sleeves from Killstar, worn over a black-and-red Sex Pot striped knit sweater with distressed detailing, and paired with a short black distressed denim skirt from Hellcat Punks. She donned black fishnet tights, wore black leg warmers, and slipped into black leather lace-up booties from Demonia. Remon accessorized her look with a black leather O-ring statement necklace, silver chain cross necklaces, a gold chain necklace, silver rings and black leather armor rings with O-ring details. Her accessories are from Konpeitou, Miho Matsuda, and Brindle. In addition, she is carrying a black leather ouija board bag from Killstar. Sporting a pink-and-purple look at the middle is purple-haired Yuzuremon, a 19-year-old student. She stepped out in a pink coat with white faux fur collar, ruffle trims and a bow from Angelic Pretty, which she wore over a purple ruffle dress from Nile Perch and styled with a pink satin mini-apron. Yuzuremon finished off her look with white stockings, pink baby doll shoes from Yumetenbou, and a light purple teddy bear plushie backpack from WEGO. In Shinjuku at Bunka Fashion College we met Pchan, a 19-year-old student whose style easily caught our eye.

Pchan stepped out in a resale outfit that consists of a black leatherette cropped blouse with flared sleeves, which she wore over a white mandarin collar shirt and paired with a long black button fly flared skirt. Black leather pointy flats with studs from YSL, and accessories such as a sheer black bow headband, chained hoop earrings, a hand-me-down statement beaded necklace, a Gucci watch and vintage rings rounded out her style. In addition, Pchan is wearing a chain-strap multicolored beaded flap bag with side fringes, which she said is a hand-me-down from her mother.

Meet Manami, a 21-year-old student we met on the Harajuku street.

Manami is clad in a cool and casual look, which consists of a black oversized shirt, worn over a leopard print long sleeve top, both of which are from Faith Tokyo. She tucked her tops into acid wash jeans with distressed cuffs, also from Faith Tokyo. She stepped into a pair of black leather lace-up shoes from Dr. Martens and is carrying a black backpack from Basic Cotton. Her accessories – from Faith Tokyo, Groovy and Another Youth – consist of a silver chain necklace with a cross pendant, a clear grommet belt, a black leather wraparound bracelet with studs, and silver chains.

Meet Shiori, the 18-year-old Vantan Fashion College student whose styles are often featured on our Harajuku street snaps.

This day, Shiori stepped out in a black ribbed turtleneck top, worn underneath a white camisole top with sheer lace trims, and both tucked into dark denim wide leg pants with raw hems. She stepped into purple leather platform lace-up boots from Yosuke and carried a mini brown leather map handbag from Alviero Martini. She styled her outfit with a long peach robe with sheer lace trims from The Mondays, which she draped over her head, with its sleeves tied below her neck and the rest of the robe cinched by a brown leather skinny belt and black wide belt. Embellishing her style are accessories such as butterfly-shaped glasses, gold mismatched earrings, a gold cross necklace layered with gold religious medallion necklaces, multiple gold bangles, and a gold knuckle ring.

Catching our attention as we were walking on the streets of Harajuku is this trio of students sporting different streetwear styles. They are Shunsuke, Mami Creamy and Shochan.

At the left sporting a colorful and eclectic look is Shunsuke, a 16-year-old student. He is dressed in a red utility vest, which he styled with remake layered tops featuring a quilted colorblock jacket, black t-shirt, and extra long sleeves made out of silver metal screens of varying sizes and connected by silver safety pins. He wore blue Focus track pants, stepped into a pair of yellow suede sneakers from Eytys, and finished off his style with layers of silver paper clips as his neckpiece and a red bandana wrapped around his head. Shunsuke’s favorite brand is Dog Harajuku, and he is active on Instagram.

Dressed in red and white at the middle is Mami Creamy, a 16-year-old student. She is dressed in a red cropped jacket from Codona de Moda and paired with white track pants with tri-color side stripes, also sourced from Codona de Moda. While out and about on the streets of Harajuku one late afternoon, we came across Creamy Mami and Yui, two girls who we street snap often.

In Harajuku, we came across Mai and Satan, two teens sporting all black streetwear styles while out and about on the street.

At the left is Satan sporting a two-tone long fringed hair. The 16-year-old student is wearing a a black tank top with silver chain shoulder straps from Sex Pot Revenge, which they paired with short black denim skirt with fringes and leopard prints from Hellcat Punks. Easily catching our eye on the streets of Tokyo one rainy afternoon are Anzu and Kureha, two Japanese teens sporting streetwear looks with a mix of new and resale fashion.

At the right sporting twin buns is Anzu, a 17-year-old student. She stepped out in an orange sweatshirt with extra long sleeves from Casper John Aiver. She tucked her sweatshirt into black button fly denim shorts with cuffed hems from Zara and finished off her look with white knee socks and black leather heeled ankle shoes from Zara.
